1. Error in acquiring image -56,1
This message is displayed when your Manage product cannot communicate with your scanner.
Check the following:
- Your scanner is turned on and connected to the computer (some scanners must be turned on BEFORE the computer. You may try restarting your computer).
- Select Settings | Options and ensure that you have the correct scanning library selected (twain is the default and most common).
- Select Settings | Select Scanner and select your scanner from the list (if there is more than one entry in the selection box then try each one).
- If the box is empty, or it still does not work, you will have to reinstall the software that was provided with your scanner. Software updates may be available at the manufacturer’s website.
- Failing that we suggest you contact the manufacturer of the scanner for product specific advice.
2. The scanned page looks all squashed on the screen
This is usually reported when the option to use Fast Scanning Mode is selected and the scanner does not support this mode.
Select Setting | Scanner Settings | More, thne unselect 'Fast Scanning Mode'.
3. What are the recommended scanner settings?
Scanning Mode: Binary, Black and white (not Greyscale)
Resolution: 300 Dpi
4. Can I use an ISIS scanner?
Manage can support ISIS scanners, however an additional module is required to provide this functionality. Please contact Redmap Sales (sales@redmap.com) for more information.
5. The scanned page looks black on my computer
This is a condition under Windows 98 SE whereby compressed tif images cannot be displayed correctly. Try the following:
- In the Control Panel/Display control, change the hardware acceleration settings for your video card.
- Change your display properties to only display 256 colours
6. The scanned page has a black background with white writing
Select Settings | Scanner Settings | More, then tick "Invert Image"
