1. Unrecognised database format :\Manage\<library>\config\<library.dtl>

A database lock has prevented ManageEzy/ManagePoint from accessing the library database. Please zip and email the file mentioned in the error to support@redmap.com and we will reply with instructions.

If you have upsized your libraries to SQL or MSDE, you may need to upsize your MaAdmin.dtl to SQL as well.

2. Failed to activate control ???? Please use the version of the control that was provided with your application.

This message is generally displayed when some of the files required to run Manage are of the wrong version.

To resolve this issue, uninstall the Manage client, reboot and then reinstall the Manage client.

The client setup file is located in the subdirectory \mfiles\client\ of your Manage server installation. Remember to point the installation to the location of the ManageEzy/ManagePoint server on your network.

3. Failed to authenticate <user> for <library>

This message is displayed when either your username or password is different to your stored credentials. Check your username and password, make sure the CAPS LOCK key is not on. If this fails, contact your administrator to reset your password or to check your username.

4. Could not find file <path>

The path to the main library database (maadmin.dtl) is unavailable or incorrect. This usually indicates that a drive mapping has been lost, in which case you should restart to restore the drive mapping or re-map the drive.

If the path is incorrect you can set the path by double clicking the maadmin.udl file in your installation directory, and specifying the path on the Connection tab.

5. The database has been placed in a state by user 'Admin' on machine MachineName that prevents it from being opened or locked.

A lock exists on the Microsoft Access Database that forms part of the Manage library. The most likely cause of this is that a Manage application has closed unexpectedly on one of the client PCs.

6. Invalid Arguments the library or its location is invalid.

Manage is expecting to find files within a path that do not exist on the PC. To find out the path(s) in question, run the Manage Administration tool on the PC on which you are receiving the error message. The missing paths will be displayed as integrity errors.

7. I get an error "Invalid use of Null"

There are blank entries in your keywords. To fix this:

  • Click the Keywords tab in your Index screen.
  • Select the grey square to the left of the first record and press Delete. Click Yes when prompted.
  • Repeat this on all empty rows until you have only one empty row remaining with * to the left of it.
  • Log back into the application.

8. Unexpected error occurred while initializing a hint list field

This may occur when you have in excess of 20,000 hints within the combo field. Due to limitations within the win95/98/Me operating system, this may prevent the loading of the complete set of hints within the combo field in Manage applications. We recommend upgrading the operating system to either WinNT or Windows 2000 to circumvent this limitation.
